Biosketch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Gon\u00e7alo S\u00e1 Vieira and my academic path so far has been intrinsically linked with Biology. In 2020 I graduated in Cell and Molecular Biology at NOVA School of Sciences and Technology, and, in the same year, I started my Master\u2019s Course in Biochemistry for Health, at Instituto de Tecnologia Qu\u00edmica e Biol\u00f3gica Ant\u00f3nio Xavier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding my professional interests, I would highlight those related with Teaching\/Tutoring, Social Intervention and Technology. Throughout my academic path I have been exposed to several subjects regarding Technology, which have all contributed to an increasing enthusiasm in this field. Nowadays, I have a particular passion for Programming, essentially due to its countless possibilities and applicabilities. As for my personality, I would describe myself as being a committed, sympathetic, and approachable person, with a great capacity to establish interpersonal relationships and to be part of a multicultural team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, I am also methodical, flexible, and creative, as I always try my best to adapt myself to new situations and\/or circumstances, by developing optimised strategies to achieve a common goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Testimony<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though my current main interests are related with Computational Science, my journey at iMM had nothing to do with this field. In fact, my experience at iMM started due to a scientific project that I had to do in my third year of Bachelor\u2019s. The aim of the project was to have a direct contact, for a short period, with the daily life of a person who works at a laboratory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considering this, I contacted Professor Ana Espada de Sousa and, for one and half months, developed, in her laboratory, a project entitled \u201cPreliminary optimisation of an in-vitro model to generate follicular helper T cells\u201d, which was supervised by the Post-Doc Researcher Catarina Godinho Santos. Despite all formalities that are usually associated with a project like this, which tries to simulate as best as possible a Master\u2019s Thesis, I really enjoyed my journey at iMM, as it has given me a plethora of tools and knowledge that have definitely been, and continue to be, extremely useful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, this experience has shown me how scientists work daily, which had certainly a huge influence on my consequent choices regarding my academic path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
