I hold a BSc in Biotechnology and a MSc in Molecular Biotechnology, both granted by Universidade de Aveiro. After working as a researcher for 2 years, I have started my PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetics, also at Universidade de Aveiro, in collaboration with Technische Universit\u00e4t Berlin. It was during my PhD that I had the opportunity to join iMM for a 6-month internship while working on the characterization of antimicrobial peptides from bacterial origin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am currently working as a PhD researcher at Centro de Biotecnologia e Qu\u00edmica Fina &amp; Escola Superior de Biotecnologia \u2013 Universidade Cat\u00f3lica Portuguesa, Porto. My research focuses of the development and characterization of next-generation probiotics and functional foods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#00c6a5;font-size:25px\"><strong>Testimony<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The time I have spent at iMM was short but full. It was a great opportunity for me to acquired scientific skills that I couldn\u2019t have learn anywhere else and that had a huge impact on my career, leading me where and who I am today. Also, I have won in terms of networking, with connects and collaborations that I keep until today, and friends that I cherish and that made this period \u2013 that could have been hard and lonely \u2013 one of the best experiences that I had.
