After the first year of my master thesis in Oncobiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, I had the pleasure to join iMM’s family. In particular, I joint Bruno Silva Santos’ Lab for one year and a half. Throughout that time, I had the opportunity to present my work several times in both lab meetings and iMM seminars. Although I had worked a lot, I also had a lot of fun! In the end of my journey at iMM, I received the Best Master Thesis Award.
Overall, the environment at iMM was amazing and I would definitely recommend and encourage students to join this renowned institute. It was a great experience that helped me to grow both professionally and personally.
Currently, I am a PhD student in another institution, but I keep connected to iMM through my ex-supervisor, which now is my PhD co-supervisor. Several colleagues also remained my friends. Moreover, together with other iMM PhD students and the Training Hub, we are now creating a novel committee in order to welcome the new PhD students. In the future, our main objective is to extend this to all iMM community.
